Making money is not one of the goals of the creative work I do but it is sometimes unavoidable. For example, someone may choose to pay $5 for an album on Bandcamp that is available for free. YouTube and various streaming platforms can also generate revenue passively.
Any of this unintentional money is donated to DonorsChoose, a website that “enables teachers to request materials and resources for their classrooms and makes these project requests available to individual donors through its website” and specifically to projects that support Ida B. Wells-Barnett Elementary School No. 34 in Rochester, NY (my former school).
